Binding selectivity of dihapto-coordinated olefins, ketones, and aldehydesutilizing the asymmetric pi-basic metal fragment {TpRe(CO)(1-methylimidazole)} (Tp = hydridotris(pyrazolyl)borate)
Sh. Meiere et Wd. Harman, Binding selectivity of dihapto-coordinated olefins, ketones, and aldehydesutilizing the asymmetric pi-basic metal fragment {TpRe(CO)(1-methylimidazole)} (Tp = hydridotris(pyrazolyl)borate), ORGANOMETAL, 20(18), 2001, pp. 3876-3883
The metal fragment {TpRe(CO)(1-methylimidazole)} (Tp = hydridotris(pyrazoly
l)borate) forms stable complexes with a variety of arenes and aromatic hete
rocycles via dihapto coordination. In this study, a series of olefins, keto
nes, and aldehydes are bound to ascertain the relative steric environment n
ear the stereogenic metal center. Utilizing this information, predictions o
f the diastereomeric selectivity of eta (2)-aromatic systems can be made.
