K. Takenaga, Dynamics of nonintegrable phases in softly broken supersymmetric gauge theory with massless adjoint matter - art. no. 066001, PHYS REV D, 6406(6), 2001, pp. 6001
We study SU(N) supersymmetric Yang-Mills theory with massless adjoint matte
r defined on M(3)circle timesS(1). The SU(N) gauge symmetry is broken maxim
ally to U(1)(N-1), independent of the number of flavor and the boundary con
ditions of the fields associated with the Scherk-Schwarz mechanism of super
symmetry breaking. The mass of the Higgs scalar is generated through quantu
m corrections in the extra dimension. The quantum correction can become man
ifest by a finite Higgs boson mass at low energies even in the limit of sma
ll extra dimensions thanks to the supersymmetry breaking parameter of the S
cherk-Schwarz mechanism.
