New ionic polynorbornenes for the selective adsorption of Cr(VI), Cr(III) a
nd Ni(II) ions are synthesized and characterized. The metal ions complexing
capacity of obtained polynorbornene resins (1-3) is dependent on the struc
ture of the cross-linking diamines. The highest capacities were found for r
esin 3. At pH = 1 Cr(VI) and Cr(III) were sorbed above 94% from an aqueous
solution. The desorption of chromium ions from the loaded resins was also s
tudied. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science BY All rights reserved.
