Three books explore the pervasiveness of technology, particularly within ac
ademe. They focus on the meaning of digital culture and its applications to
societal initiatives, including higher education; the need for thoughtful
and conscious integration of technology in the planning, organization, and
management of higher education's core activities; and the utility of inform
ation technology and its role in institutional assessment and accountabilit
y. Higher education must meet the challenge of technology to affirm, enhanc
e, and advance its mission.
