The author discusses some types of psychoanalytical publications which
deal with German unification and its consequences. He also takes into
consideration some psychological publications which are not psychoana
lytical, but might be of interest for methodological and substantive r
easons. He demonstrates that many of these studies are just a kind of
pseudosocial psychology because of their restricted psychological focu
s, which excludes social theoretical reasoning. This might be the reas
on why some of these publications are loaded with ideology.
