Transition metal [Pt(IV), Fe(III), Co(II) and Ni(II)] complexes of 5-amino-
1-(aryl)imidazole-4-carboxamide (aryl = C6H5, C6H4CH3 and C6H4-OCH3) were p
repared and characterized by microchemical analyses, infrared, electronic s
pectra and thermogravimetric analyses. The infrared spectra showed that the
se ligands coordinate to metal ions in a bidentate manner. Moreover, octahe
dral structures are suggested for all the studied complexes.
