Abstract
Cushing's disease of pituitary-dependent hyperadrenocorticism is common in dogs and rare in cats. The cause is usually a pituitary cortocotroph adenom a. Pituitary imaging with computed tomography is required to assess the siz e and location of the pituitary adenoma in relation to the surgical landmar ks. Microsurgical transsphenoidal hypophysectomy is an effective method of treatment for canine and feline Cushing's disease.
