Abstract
A new type of tetradentate amino phosphonate monoester has been synthe sized by alkaline hydrolysis of the parent phosphonate diester; the cr ystal structure of its copper complex reveals a monoester ligand-bridg ed centrosymmetric dimeric five-co-ordinate copper(II) complex.
