Ml. Yao et al., Cross-coupling reaction of cy-clopropylboronic acids with aryl omega-halo-oxo-perfluoroalkyl-sulfonates, CHIN SCI B, 46(15), 2001, pp. 1277-1281
The cross-coupling reaction of cyclopropylboronic acids with aryl omega -ha
lo-oxo-perfluoroalkylsulfonates is investigated. It was found that the ster
eodefined cyclopropylboronic acids can readily react with aryl omega -halo-
oxo-perfluoroalkylsulfonates to give the corresponding cross-coupling produ
cts in high yields under the appropriate conditions and in the presence of
transition metal catalysts. For the reaction of various aryl perfluoroalkyl
sulfonates bearing the substituents, the use of corresponding bases was ess
ential. During these reactions, the cyclopropyl configurations of cycloprop
ylboronic acids are retained. Thus, the procedure provides a new convenient
route to stereodefined cyclopropane derivatives from phenols and commerce-
available omega -chloro-oxo-perfluoroalkylsulfonyl fluoride.
