The purpose of the present paper is to sensitize cognitive-behavior therapi
sts to issues that are faced by many lesbian, gay, and bisexual youth. Litt
le information is available to cognitive-behavioral therapists about same-s
ex sexual attractions in lesbian, gay, and bisexual youth, or how to incorp
orate these concerns into one functional analysis and treatment plan. Howev
er lesbian, gay, and bisexual youth may be at risk for a variety of clinica
l problems amenable to cognitive-behavioral therapy. We provide necessary i
nformation for the incorporation of issues concerning same-sex sexuality in
to one's case formulations when working with lesbian, gay, and bisexual you
th, illustrated by case examples and clinical vignettes.
