Peltoschema Reitter, a hitherto unrecognised chrysomeline: Redescription and synonymy (Coleoptera : Chrysomelidae)

Peltoschema Reitter is redescribed as a genus of Chrysomelidae, not Trogoss itidae, and is recognised as the valid and oldest available name for Acacic ola Lea, Pyrgo Weise (nec Defrance) and Pyrgoides Kelly and Reid (all new s ynonyms). A lectotype is designated for the type species, Peltoschema filic ornis Reitter, which is a senior synonym of Paropsis platynota Lea (new syn onym). The monophyly of Peltoschema is discussed, the species-group to whic h both P. filicornis and the type species of Acacicola belong is defined, a nd P. filicornis is redescribed.
