Abstract
Targeted toward the applied modeler, this article provides select power and sample size tables and interpolation strategies associated with the root m ean square error of approximation test of not close fit under standard assu med conditions. It is hoped that researchers conducting structural equation modeling will be better informed as to power limitations when testing a mo del given a particular available sample size or, better yet, that they will heed the sample size recommendations contained herein when planning their study to ensure the most accurate assessment of the degree of close fit bet ween data and model.
