Genitourinary trauma

This article details the evaluation and management of the patient with a su spected traumatic injury to the genitourinary system. Details discussed inc lude evaluation of injuries to the kidneys, ureters, bladder, urethra, and external genitalia of both the male and female. Emphasis is placed on deter mining which patients require evaluation as well as physical examination fi ndings and diagnostic tests results for each type of injury. Different moda lities of treatment for genitourinary injuries are discussed.
