PULMONARY HEMORRHAGE ASSOCIATED WITH IGA NEPHROPATHY

in recent years a few examples of the association of pulmonary hemorrh age and IgA nephropathy have been reported. We present a 42-year-old m an with biopsy-proven mesangial IgA deposition, in whom alveolar hemor rhage was the first manifestation of the disease. Although this manife station of IgA nephropathy is rare, the diagnosis must be considered i n all patients with pulmonary hemorrhage in the absence of clinical or serological evidence of systemic disease.
