A spin filter method for the measurement of the solubility of protein cryst
als is described. A crystal slurry is equilibrated with protein solution an
d then centrifuged through a filter to assay the protein concentration. The
technique is rapid and easy to perform and does not require any specialise
d or expensive equipment. Data for hen eggwhite lysozyme and carboxypeptida
