Abstract
Single crystals of beta -1-N-acetamido-D-glucopyranose have been grown from aqueous solution by the slow-evaporation method at room temperature. The r efractive indices of the crystal have been measured at a wavelength of 632 nm. The linear electro-optic constant r(41) is estimated as 1.02 pm/V. The dielectric measurements and absorption studies are undertaken to characteri ze the crystal. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
