Mycobacterial immunization - Agents to limit asthma

The recent surge in the prevalence of asthma in developed communities point s to important environmental determinants of the condition, and to the poss ibility that their reversal will see a decline in the disease. This review considers the relationship between microbial exposures and atopic disorder, and in particular the epidemiologic and experimental data on the Th1-promo ting and Th2-limiting properties of mycobacteria.
