Abstract
An inelastic X-ray scattering spectrometer on the beamline BL11XU at the SP ring-8 is described. The typical energy resolution and energy transfer are 0.1-1eV and similar to 30eV, respectively. The main aim of this spectromete r is the measurement of electronic excitations, such as charge-transfer exc itation and interband transition, especially using resonant X-ray scatterin g. As a test experiment, the resonant X-ray scattering spectra of LaMnO3 in cluding Mn K beta (5) emission are given. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science B.V. Al l rights reserved.
