C. Paulmann et al., Software development for studies of diffuse scattering using CCD-detectorsand synchrotron radiation sources, NUCL INST A, 467, 2001, pp. 1113-1116
A graphical-user-interface based software system was developed to cover adv
anced data processing requirements which arise from studies of diffuse scat
tering in disordered minerals using synchrotron radiation sources and CCD-d
etectors. The software includes interfaces to standard applications, proced
ures for numerical processing of large data sets, corrections for sample ex
ternal scattering and detector-specific distortions, different scaling opti
ons to correct the data set against the varying primary beam intensity as w
ell as procedures to reconstruct arbitrary slices in reciprocal space on a
regular grid. The software system was successfully applied in studies of di
ffuse scattering in disordered REE-doped germanates, phase-transition studi
es of synthetic titanite and studies of the thermal recrystallization behav
iour of radiation-damaged (metamict) minerals. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science B.
