The possibility of using inverse scattering for reverse time modeling of th
ermal diffusion problems using the transmission line matrix is discussed. C
onsideration is given to network parameterization via a series of numerical
experiments. A three-dimensional implementation shows that, although there
is a tendency for rounding errors to accumulate, it is possible to use rev
erse time modeling to reconstruct a previous temperature distribution and t
he thermal history of individual points in space.
