Abstract
A resistive drift wave model is developed from the two fluids theory, and t he associated eigenvalue problem is solved using the ballooning mode formal ism for the 3D equilibrium magnetic field configuration of the H-1NF stella rator. The frequency spectrum and the localization of electron drift modes are driven unstable by collisional dissipation of electrons along the magne tic field lines.
