Considering an ensemble of disordered quantum rings, we examine the role of
sample-to-sample averaging on the observable phase-breaking of carrier wav
e functions at zero temperature. We find that inhomogeneous factors associa
ted with electron-impurity interactions lead to dephasing, which can explai
n the experimental data on temperature dependence of the phase breaking tim
