Abstract
In this article, disease of the small intestine will be discussed, with par ticular reference to those conditions leading to malabsorption and malnutri tion. The work up of these entities will be emphasized, with focus on bacte rial overgrowth, celiac sprue and nonsteroidal-induced enteropathy.
