Abstract
A compact radio-frequency (RF) power divider has been developed for th e next generation lower hybrid current drive (LHCD) antenna at a frequ ency of several gigahertz. The power divider is featured by power spli tting in the H plane of a rectangular waveguide with posts. The posts in the waveguide are used to reduce reflective power into the input wa veguide and to divide RF power into the following subwaveguides with t he same ratio. The H plane power-divider having three subwaveguides is fabricated for comparing with analytical results by a calculation cod e. The positions of three posts are optimized by the calculation code to obtain the required RF properties. Measured RF properties show good agreement with the calculated data at a frequency of 2 GHz. The resul ts show that the code can design the power divider in the H plane with posts. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science S.A.
