A comparison is made of parents, children, siblings, and spouses of pe
ople with mental illness in relationship to caregiver burden. Findings
show that the nature of the burden experienced in the four groups is
both similar and different. A unique aspect of the present study is th
at family members in this study group represent an economically depriv
ed group and there is diversity of age and race.
