Abstract
Evidence suggests that of the widely distributed sets of E. D. Merrill's "i llustrative specimens" for F. M. Blanco's names of Philippine plants, the f irst, most complete, and best labelled extant set is the one at the U.S. Na tional Herbarium. Workers considering neotypification of Blanco's plant nam es should give special consideration to the materials at US.
