The topic of time management inevitably emerges when researching concepts o
f time in organizations. And, as we live in a society where we deal with or
ganizations all the time and in a variety of forms, we are continually conf
ronted with the way in which time is managed in an 'organizational' way. Th
is article departs from a critical overview of time-management literature a
nd confronts the assumptions therein with the experiences of a (female) chi
ef executive, managing her time. By taking time management literally, it is
shown that underneath, other temporal markers are essential and that conce
pts of time management necessarily provide a perspective that is risky and
too limited.
