Abstract
A sound knowledge of male pelvic anatomy is the essential first requirement for good results in radical prostatectomy. Remarkable individual variation confounds quick understanding. Without proper appreciation of the complex inter-relationships of muscle, fascia, bladder, prostate, urethra, and neur ovascularity, goals of urinary control, preservation of erectile function, and negative prostate resection margins will remain elusive.
