herapies and therapeutic claims. Professional credibility demands that such
claims be subjected to critical evaluation before their general acceptance
. There are many reasons for therapeutic success that may have nothing to d
o with the usefulness of a particular therapy and many promising therapies
have been subsequently shown to be ineffective. Accordingly, it behooves ve
terinarians to look carefully before they leap into embracing a new treatme
nt modality.
