The morphology of Staphylocystis tiara (Dujardin 1845) Spassky 1950 was stu
died based on original material from white-toothed shrews of the Kopetdag.
An insignificant invagination of the rostellum central part with strong con
traction of rostellar bursa was found. As a result, the hook position chang
ed. The morphology of scolex and young mature male, hermaphrodite and matur
e female uterine segments were described. The sail formation only on the ap
oral side of uterine proglottids was revealed. The morphology of seminal ve
sicules and receptacle in Staphylocystis tiara were described for the first
time. A analysis of the data obtained has not revealed any significant dif
ferences between Staphylocystis tiara from Westlapacarctic region and Centr
al Asia. A complete list of the species synonyms is provided.
