Different clinical entities are associated with elongation of the styloid p
rocess or ossification of the stylohyoid ligament. Although partial ossific
ation of the stylohyoid ligament is not uncommon, complete ossification is
rare. We present a rare case of complete ossification of the stylohyoid lig
ament. This case may represent the extreme end of the spectrum of entities
known as cervico pharyngeal pain syndrome, which includes Eagle's syndrome,
stylohyoid syndrome, and pseudostylohyoid syndrome.
