Abstract
Single injection of Prostaglandin F 2 alpha is able to induce parturition i n sows, Earliest the 114(th) pregnancy day in sows and 115(th) day in gifts is advisable for the PGF(2 alpha) injection. The main effect of synchroniz ation of parturitions in gilts and sows in group after PGF(2 alpha). (Clopr ostenol((R))) can get a higher perfection after an additionally injection o f long-time Oxytocin analogue Depotocin((R)). After Depotocin((R)) the onse t of parturition is more concentrated than without them or with only a sing le injection of natural Oxytocin. In the average the length of parturition is reduced about 50%. In sows there is no dependence to their body weight a nd their number of litter. Following treatment is recommendable for gilts a nd sows: 1 ml Depotocin((R)) (0,4 mg Carbetocin) must be given 22 hours pos t PGF 2 alpha Cloprostenol((R)) in gilts and sows without parturition until this time (115.-116. day of pregnancy). In comparison to spontaneous partu ritions the biotechnical induction of parturition reduces the percentage of still-born piglets per litter.
