Systematic investigations were performed of the intensification of ion-exch
ange processes for extracting uranium from solutions and pulps during proce
ssing of polymetallic mineral stock. The crux of the process developed cons
isted in creating conditions under which polymer forms of uranyl are formed
in solution and in the ionite phase. Several types of sorbents were studie
d. It was shown that the sorption characteristics were improved, and the op
timal conditions for the process were determined. The character of the poly
merization. transformations of uranyl ions in the sorbent phase was determi
ned. 5 figures, 11 references.
