Lb. Shurmel' et al., IR-spectroscopy investigation of the properties of ignites in uranium sorption during processing of silicon-containing solutions and pulps, ATOM ENERGY, 90(3), 2001, pp. 218-223
IR spectroscopy was used to identify arid study the structure and propertie
s of domestic and foreign samples of ionites synthesized for the nuclear in
dustry. The mechanism of uranium absorption from complex salt solutions and
the interaction of uranium with functional groups of ionites were investig
ated. The changes in the structural and chemical properties of ionites subj
ected to prolonged commercial use were estimated. The dependence of the pro
cess of uranium sorption on anionites and the dynamics of accumulation of s
ilicon compounds in the anionites were found. A comparative analysis of the
data showed that the capability of art anionite to absorb silicon does not
always interfere with uranium sorption. 6 figures, 2 tables; 9 references.
