Abstract
Methods in experimental economics are reminiscent of the methods employed b y behaviorists in the first half of the twentieth century. Empirical and co nceptual progress led the field of psychology away from the principles of b ehaviorism, and experimental economists should ;consider whether the critic isms leveled against behaviorists might apply equally to them.
