Abstract
Collagen gel immobilisation represents a new cell culture technique, i n which hepatocellular function and morphological integrity can be pre served over long term periods under standardised conditions. An easy a pplication method, the cryopreservability of cell cultures and a high resistance of culture systems against shear forces of fluids in a dyna mic application (bioreactor) let this technique be recommended for the construction of hybrid organ systems, esp. with respect to industrial production.
