Abstract
This paper presents a new, voltage dependent model for optimal reactive com pensation planning of radial distribution systems. It is of combinatorial t ype, with non-linear and non-differentiable criterion function, including n onequality constraints. The problem solution consists of an effective accel erated search, based on the dynamic programming. Two different search proce dures are proposed. The first procedure employs normalized simultaneous loa d duration curves of consumer's nodes, arranged in decreased sequence and t he second one considers the case of non-simultaneous and unarranged load di agrams. The model is tested on two characteristic radial distribution syste ms. It exhibited better results regarding savings, than previously proposed methods applied on the same test systems.
