Abstract
The addition of arylethylidene malononitriles 1 to dimethyl trithiocarbonat e in the presence of sodium hydride in benzene gives 4-aryl-2-imino-6-methy lthio-2H-thiopyran-3-carbonitriles 5 in good yields.
