Abstract
Four lignans, namely, (+)-simplexotin 1, (+)-sesamolin 2, Justicidin E 3, a nd (-)- xanthoxylol 4, in addition to sitosterol-3-O-glucoside, have been i solated and characterized from J. orbiculata. 1 and 2 belong to the rare gr oup of aryloxyfurofurans and their C-13 NMR data are assigned through 2D NM R spectral data.
