The new charge-transfer salt beta "-(BEDT-TTF)(4)[(H3O)Cr(C2O4)(3)]S, where
BEDT-TTF = bis(ethylenedithio)tetrathiaful valene and S = CH2Cl2, has a br
oad metal-insulator transition at approximately 150 K. This differs from si
milar salts in the BEDT-TTF tris(oxalato) metalate Series, notably the supe
rconducting materials with S = PhCN and the salt with S = C5H5N, which has
a sharp metal-insulator transition.
