Abstract
The mean atomic number of compounds was measured using their scattered radi ation. This method is based on the intensity ratio of the coherently and th e incoherently scattered radiation. A standard curve was constructed with k nown atomic number versus intensity ratio of the coherently and the incoher ently scattered radiation. The obtained results were compared with the calc ulated values.
