it fox, Vulpes macrotis mutica, population were Investigated at Camp R
oberts Army National Guard Training Site, Monterey and San Luis Obispo
counties, California in 1989 and 1990. Prevalence of antibodies was d
etermined from serum samples collected from 47 (26 female, 21 male) ad
ult kit foxes and eight (four female, four male) juveniles. Antibodies
were detected against five of the eight pathogens tested: canine dist
emper virus, canine parvovirus, infectious canine hepatitis virus, Lep
tospira interrogans, and Toxoplasma gondii. Antibodies were not detect
ed against Brucella canis, Yersinia pestis, or Coccidioides immitis.
