This paper describes a new method for the time-domain analysis of one-dimen
sional arrays of dynamic piecewise linear cells. The method exploits the lo
cal connectivity, typical of cellular arrays, and the piecewise linear beha
viour of the v-i characteristic of the non-linear elements to obtain a piec
ewise analytical expression of the solution. Examples demonstrate the accur
acy and the efficiency, in terms of CPU-time, of the proposed method with r
espect to standard simulation tools as SPICE and the numerical integration
