Abstract
We are proposing a new pumping scheme using a very thin membrane, which has several advantages for effective pumping of soft x-ray laser, Initial elec tron density and temperature of the plasma from membrane targets were evalu ated from soft x-ray spectra. Dependence of pre-pulse duration on productio n of highly ionized plasma and high gain for Si H alpha x-ray laser is disc ussed.
