Abstract
The current state trends in the development of portable gas chromatographs were considered. A classification of portable chromatographs was proposed ( compact devices, field devices, on-chip micro chromatographs, and special m icro chromatographs). Performance and analytical characteristics of domesti cally produced and foreign portable chromatographs were presented. Portable gas chromatographs for space exploration, high-flow-rate gas chromatograph y, and new applications of portable chromatographs were considered.
