To study the incidence Of Mastitis during 1999-2000, a total of 38 lactatin
g camels were analysed in an organised form. The overall incidence of masti
tis was 47.36 per cent with only 5.55 per cent indicating clinical Mastitis
. The udders were hot and painful in clinical cases and painful in subclini
cal ones. Camels above 10 years were Most susceptible for mastitis. There w
as a 21.6 per cent decline in the body weight Of camel calves receiving sub
clinical Mastitis milk. The positive samples revealed Streptococcus agalact
iae, Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli and their mixed infections.
