Abstract
Deuterated polycrystalline solids (LiD, TiDx and PdDx, etc.) were impa cted by nylon projectiles of < 1 km/s velocity to look for and charact erize possible neutron emissions from fracto-fusion type reactions. Em ission of < 100 neutrons from impacted 6-8 mm size lithium deuteride s amples is inferred by monitoring signals from a bank of BF3 detectors in various ways. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science B.V.
