Abstract
The explosive nature of emission by brittle triglycine sulfate crystal s is explained on the basis of a two-stage kinetic model for fracture (dislocation-crack). Estimates give a low value for the nonlinear Pois son's ratio, which is explained by the change in the nonlinear higher- order models during deformation.
