Excess molar enthalpies for the binary mixtures {tetrahydrofuran (THF) + 1-
propanol, + 1-hexanol, + 1-heptanol, + 1-octanol, + 1-nonanol, and + 1-deca
nol} and {diisopropyl ether (DIPE) + methanol, + ethanol, + 1-propanol, + 1
-butanol, + 1-pentanol, + 1-hexanol, + 1-heptanol, + 1-octanol, + 1-nonanol
, and + 1-decanol} at 298.15 K are reported. These measurements were made u
sing a newly designed flow-mixing cell for an isothermal microcalorimeter (
Calorimetry Sciences Corporation, UT). The performance of this cell was eva
luated through the measurement of the excess molar enthalpies of {cyclohexa
ne + hexanel and {water + acetone or methanol} at 298.15 K. The comparison
between these results and reliable literature data shows that the newly des
igned flow-mixing cell is trustworthy and produces good quality data.
