The molecular dynamics of amorphous polysilarylenes with amide groups
and aromatic fragments was studied by the dielectric method. The relax
ation properties of these polymers were compared to those of previousl
y characterized polysilarylenes with ester-aromatic fragments. It is s
hown that there are two types of the local molecular mobility in polya
mides, which are analogous to those known in the polyesters. The diffe
rence of the relaxation times and the activation energies for the dipo
le polarization in polysilarylenes with amide and ester groups is caus
ed by an additional retardation of the kinetic elements as a result of
intermolecular hydrogen bond formation in polyamides.
